TOTHEBONE: 15th BIRTHDAY
It seems scarcely believable, but TOTHEBONE celebrates its fifteenth year this June.
If it had all gone to plan we’d be living in villas in the Ibizan hills by now – and our septums would have collapsed more spectacularly than the Soviet Union. We’d have spent the ’90s churning out half-baked compilation CDs and turning up at provincial nightclubs, sticking false moustaches on the resident DJs, and doubling the entry price.
But we didn’t do that. We stuck to our guns. And what’s more – we did it for you. And because we thought it might get us girls.
So what better way to celebrate 15 years than in the style of a 15 year old’s birthday party? That’s right, for one night only, London’s trendy east London’s trendiest nightspot, Bar 54, will be transformed, quite literally, before your very eyes.
Out go the current booth and crystal clear soundsystem. In come milk crates, belt drives and a pocket-sized strobe. Sayonara, continental lager. Hello, Strongbow!
What more do you need? Well, how about Marc Schneider, A&R for wordandsound Distribution in Hamburg, and a regular at Panorama Bar and Weekend in Berlin, Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, Food in Brussels, and the Rex Club in Paris? And how about having him play for three whole hours?
Come marvel at men at the top of their game. And bring as many mates as you want – but only if they go past third base.
